Fun Facts: Charles Doppelt, an immigrant leather goods designer from Germany owned a company in the early 1900’s and his nephew, Jerome Harris invented the kit. Because he worked for his uncle’s company he named it after his uncle and boss, “Dopp Kit”. During WWII the US Army issued them to recruits by the millions.
